Tuesday 22:30. A police helicopter continues to circle above Crouch End as Ham & High report that officers have taped off Edison Road and surrounded a house during an “ongoing incident”. Crouchenders have been told not to expect the situation to finish any time soon and social media rumours that it was over seem to be incorrect at this time.
At 20:45 locals reported that police were “in a number of buildings in Edison Road” and officers “hoped everything would end peacefully”.
Earlier, a “hefty projectile” hit a police car parked in the road and there were reports of “a man on a roof”. Meanwhile, lots of shouting and “crashes and bangs” could be heard and territorial support group officers have gone into the property en masse.
The incident seems to have started around 1.30pm on Tuesday and police helicopters have been intermittently circling the centre of Crouch End all afternoon.
