Crouch End Radio

Affectionately known as “The Clocktower of Power”, Crouch End Radio broadcast online from late 2013 to December 2015. The station was founded by former BBC digital producer Brian West and podcaster Georgina Sowerby, both of whom also presented programmes on the channel.

Other presenters and performers included Deborah Glanville, Carolina Bliss, Johnny Reece, U.S. comedian Will Franken, Richard Cray and Angela Elliot. The station had both PPL and music streaming licenses and was sponsored by local estate agents Greene & Co.

The station featured extensive coverage of the Crouch End Festival as well as regular local news bulletins throughout the year.

For a while there were plans for Crouch End Radio to set-up studios at Hornsey Town Hall, but these plans were cancelled due to security concerns and because of the impending development of the town hall site. At one time there were also plans for the station to apply for a community radio licence.

In July 2018 it was reported that Brian West & Georgina Sowerby plan to relaunch Crouch End Radio in 2019.
